Entry for Inspiration Emporium's Challenge

Happy Halloween!

Here's my entry for Inspiration Emporium's October Challenge. The challenge is to create a decoration for your home that is spooky. They had some great projects from their design team. You have a chance to win a $50 gift card to their store. Go check out the challenge page and see what everyone else has come up with to spook you this Halloween season.

The treat box is cut with the Silhouette. The bat stamp is from Stampin' Up using the new Illuminate ink and the "31" is from Tim Holtz Movers and Shapers. Hope you enjoy!

Hey, hey

Hey all,

Of course it's been a while since I've posted. I have fun news though. I recently had a baby and my time has been spent caring for his needs. I've not had the time to do much crafting lately but that's to be expected with all of the changes. I've been making Thank you cards and birthday cards for when I need them. Otherwise I haven't been able to just play around and make something just for fun. I'm going to try and start making more of an effort to take the time to do something crafty.

While I've been up late at night though I keep thinking of all the things that I want to create and do. I want to work on making some layouts and cards, do some sewing, and finish the prayer shawl that I had started knitting. I need to have my creative outlet again and be able to have time for myself. Most of the time whenever I try and work on doing something there's always an interruption. I wonder how those of you with kids find the time to be crafty??? or is it something that you have the time for once the kids have grown up a little?

During my late nights, I have been thinking of how to reorganize my stash. I also have been slowly trying to de-stash. I've been doing that with all of my stuff not just my scrapping stuff. I so want to be able to really organize my stuff and find a home for everything but we're in a rental so half of my stuff is boxed up in the garage. It makes it harder to go through stuff when it's buried under other boxes, haha. Anyway, I want any advice you all have on making time to craft.

I took the plunge

Here's my new toy. So excited about it. Unfortunately, I got sick the day it arrived so I still haven't gotten to play with it yet. I'm hoping to do that today and then post some pics of what I've cut with it.

1st card with the Silhouette. This is based off a card design by Jennifer McGuire. I used Neenah card stock for the base and the front and then various colors of Stampin' Up paper were glued behind to create the rainbow.

April 2012 Cards

 Hey all,

Here are some of the pictures that I promised.

This is the dining table being used as my crafting space since we've moved. I need to clean my stuff up but I also have about 6 more cards to make.  Here are about three of them for birthdays in April.

Busy crafting

I've actually been crafting and using my supplies. I've decided and have been making the effort to use up my supplies in the projects that I do. So with that said I've gathered all sorts of fun embellishments for my PL stuff and have it all in one area. I'll show you a photo of what I'm using for right now. I needed something portable since I don't have a permanent space to keep my crafty stuff out all the time. I've been able to play around and get the majority of the Jan. - March complete. I still need to add photos and journaling. It's great to use this format since I'm trying to play catch up. I also couldn't resist going back to last year and arranging photos for the last few months. I've finally found an album that I will use for PL and have moved this year into that album and have everything else from the previous year in the other album. I figure this way I can keep some sort of order my scrapping. Now, I haven't been completely good about not buying things. I bought a few things that were at the local discount scrapbook store and some Smash accessories since they were 30 % off at AC Moore this week. If you even remotely like the stuff you should consider making a trip to the store. They have some things that I haven't seen in other stores.

I'll try and get some pics up of my album and the cards that I've made. I was really productive last night and made about 6 cards. I did use my Thickers on a few of them because I'm trying to use up my stash instead of holding on to them. So they fairly plain since the Thickers took up most of the card front. Well maybe I won't post the pics of the cards until I get them sent out, haha. That would definitely ruin the surprise for some people.

I also want a Silhouette Cameo. Anyone have one that wants to let me know what they think of there's? I've just been really impressed with the detail that it can cut that the Cricut can not. Definitely need to figure out a way to get one. There's not really any good excuses coming up that I can think of for getting one as a present :) Let me know if you think of one!

Thanks for stopping by.

Anyone still following?

Well, again I went off the radar but I'm here to stop by. We have had a lot going on in our lives and my crafting and blogging have had to take a backseat. We sold our house and had to move within two weeks. We're also preparing for a life-alternating experience. We're excited about also nervous. Work has been crazy and has maybe settled down for a little while but is about to start getting crazy again with the end of the school year coming up. Also, I'll hopefully be able to put some pics up of the projects I've made in the mean time. I've not been able to do a whole lot in the past few months. I have also been good about not buying too much stuff recently also but that is changing due to the wonderful stuff from CHA.

I've made a video of some recent purchases, which is over on my YouTube channel. What I'm really excited about right now is starting Project Life. I think it's such a great idea and realized that I'd done a bit of it before with the Simple Stories line. I still love their stuff. We R Memory Keepers has the various page dividers that you can use. So I debated for a while about buying the products. I could just piece things together rather than spending the money on the products but in the end I decided to buy some. You may ask why would you do that if you'd figured out you could piece it together?....Well, I like the products that they have out there and I am going to combine the Project Life products and my own supplies. So I'll be doing a hybrid Project Life, I guess. Which I think is what this and scrapbooking is all about...doing your own thing and getting to leave your mark. I like that I can do little layouts or just some journaling and still feel like I'm documenting what's going on in our lives. Anyway, my package arrived today with my Project Life goodies so I'm really excited. I'm going to try and post or at least take pictures or videos regularly on my progress. I also need to do an update on my Junque Journal. I'm definitely not going to do it every day or even try and do it every week but maybe monthly or just events that I want to have some physical memory of later.

I hope that you'll stick with me through the transition we're about to go through and keep checking back.

Thanks for stopping by.
