Mini Catalog!!

Hey all,

The new Stampin' Up Holiday Mini catalog just came out. Make sure you check out the wonderful new products. As always the papers and stamps are gorgeous. They've come out with their version of "Stickles" called Dazzling Diamonds. You can add some re-inker and have custom sparkles. SU has also come out with Shaker Frames so that you don't have to snip your way to a wonderful addition to a card or layout. The major thing that SU has come out with that I'm very excited about is the Simply Scored. I love the way they've designed the scoring tool and the ease of use. There are even markers so that you don't have to remember the measurements when mass producing cards and projects.

Make sure to check out all of the new goodies by clicking on the mini catalog on the right and click the link to shop.

Thanks for stopping by.

Start to my Junque Journal

Hey all,

The junque journal is going well. I have about 85% of the pages either covered or inked. I want to do the others but I got distracted, of course. I decided to try art journaling also. It's also fun because of the freeing element to it. It doesn't matter what it looks like because it's just for me. I think I was really doing a form of it when I was younger but it wasn't called that or at least not as big. I think I have about 3 or 4 journals or sketchbooks going. I have two for art journaling, one as a Junque Journal, and two as inspiration books - 1 is for decorating and the other is crafting/ideas. Ah, so many ideas and things to do, so little time. I have a week left until I have to go back to school. We got my husband's room straightened out but I still have mine left to organize. It's a mess too. I'm not sure about where to put stuff and the file cabinet with a bunch of my supplies has been locked on me and I don't have the key. I'm gonna have to get someone to drill out the lock. Anyway, I'm off to bed or to go play - can't decide which.

Junque Journal Part 1

Hello again!

Hooray! It's been driving me nuts all night and most of the day. I've wanted to make a junque journal. I've been meaning to start for a while now and had actually started a couple of junque/art journals/smash book but had then gotten swept up in life. Now I'm back at it. I pulled out the composition book that's been sitting in my craft area for months now and have adorned it with ribbon. I decided to tie the ribbon on both the top and the bottom. I've also gone through and crumpled some of the pages so that I can ink them later. Some of the pages tore but I'm not worried about since this is suppose to be a junque journal and can be as messy as I want. Crumpling the pages has already added a significant amount of depth to the book. It'll be interesting to see what happens when I start adding other things in. I'll take some pictures and add them on here later so that you all can join me in the journey. I'm also going to make a smash book and an art journal. I think I'll make them for presents also. I'm looking forward to using up my stash and creating again.

I received my inspiration from a bunch of creative people on YT. Check out tangiebaxter, littleglimpses, journalartista, and chrispea to name a few.

What a crazy summer

Hey!
I know it's been a while but things have been crazy around here. It seems that the family has just spent the summer at the doctor's office. I've had to go a couple of times. My husband has had to go a few times and my Grandmom had to have rotator cuff surgery. She then had to be in a pillow sling for 6 weeks - this does not make for a happy Grandmom. She is out of it now and going to physical therapy to regain the use of her shoulder. School has been crazy also but there is a good side. I have one more class and then I am FINISHED!!! I'm so excited about almost being through. It seemed like it would take forever. Another good thing, I passed my Administrator's exam. So I can now be fully licensed as an Administrator. I am not looking to be an administrator right away, maybe somewhere down the road. We start school in a couple of weeks so we're going to try and finally squeeze in a trip to the beach. Then hopefully I can get back to my hobbies, YEAH! I'll have some updates later on.

Whoa weather!

Yesterday the south was hit by major thunderstorms, tornadoes, and flash flooding. While Alabama had some tornadoes and some unfortunate events occur we were also hit with some severe weather.  We knew last night that we had some damage to our storm doors and just hoped and prayed that there wouldn't be any major damage to our house or cars. This is what we woke up to this morning.

We were lucky compared to our neighbor. Here's what his house and yard looked like this morning.

We've already managed to clean up most of the yard and helped the one neighbor to clean up the tree that just barely missed his house. It's been a busy morning. This house we left the way it is because we figured the insurance people need to come and check out the damage to the house.

On a lighter note, I've been doing some work lately on cards and charms and other things. Here are the ATCs I made.

Supplies: Dies: Sizzix ATC die, TH alterations Bird cage and bird die, Paper: K&Company, flower: MFT: Pretty Posies die, I am Roses small rose, Embossing powder: Zing, Chestnut

Close up of flower.
I used the Sizzix ATC die to cut out the paper and backed it with medium weight chipboard. I then cut out the birdcage shape using the TH alterations mini mover and shaper. I saw the idea on a video of Tim at CHA. I cut the mini bird also from TH alterations. The flower is made from the MFT Pretty Posies die-namic and an I am Roses mini rose. I rolled the edges of each flower petal with a piercer and then poked a hole through all the layers to thread the wire on the smaller rose through to hold all the layers together. I then embossed the sentiment with Zing embossing powder. I made this for an ATC swap on YPP. I hope the ladies enjoy. I'll share my other creations in the next day or so.

April Cards

So in the month of April there are a lot of events that need cards such as Easter and then there are 3 birthdays in the family. I've been trying to work on them slowly but I think I'm working a little too slow, ha. I've got two of the birthday cards made. One is for my mil and the other is for my sil. I still have to make one for my niece and then I need to make 6 Easter cards. I've also signed up for a few swaps. I need to make 10 ATCs, 3 swivel clasp charms, 2 sets of 5 dress forms and then glam up the set of 5 dress forms that I'd already made. I also have to do a layout for a friend, start thinking about Mother's Day cards, and then my brother's birthdays and my dad and another niece's birthday. There's going to be a lot of card making in the near future. Plus, I have a ton of school work. I had thought that tonight I would be good and do school work when I got home. Then when I was at work I decided I really needed to get some of my crafting stuff completed. So what have I done since I've been home, nothing related to those two things. I've managed to make dinner and then waste time on web. I made myself get off a little bit ago and then I went on a search for my ATCs that I'd started and along the way figured out that I could keep my La Blanche stamps in the photo organizer that I picked up on Sat. It was 50% off plus I had a coupon for $5 off of $25. I'd been looking at the organizer for a while. I also found the set of Spellbinder dies that I had misplaced, remember the large circles that should be in my binder well I found them, yeah!

Here are my cards, the first one is a sketch from the MFT Wednesday Stamp Club

This is the card for my SIL. Paper: cardstock - Neenah, patterned - MME, Stella & Rose, Flower: MFT Pretty Posies die-namic, image stamp: MFT - You Rule, MFT Sweet Stack die-namic, sentiment: Lawn Fawn - Sophie's Sentiments, embossing folder - TH Music

Close-up of the card front

This is the card for my MIL. The idea for the quilt pattern I got from the Splitcoaststampers website. Paper: cardstock - Neenah, patterned paper - K&Co., spool die - TH Sewing Room die, twine - The Twinery - melon (?), sentiment stamp: Lawn Fawn - Sophie's Sentiments, pearls: Recollections

Crafting accomplished and a lot of stamping

Hey all,

I managed to get some things made last week. Yeah, exciting. Pics are below. I managed to make some cards that I'm going to send off to Operation Write Home when I get a few more made. I've been wanting to make cards for them for about a month now. The cards are simple so that they will withstand the trips that the cards will take. I also managed to do a little bit of coloring and made some books. The books I made were to hold my dies, both Spellbinders and My Favorite Things. I have to make two more books for the spellbinders. That may be a sign ;) I love the storage books though and made a couple for friends. Both friends really like them and want me to show them how to make more. I made a video of the process which is on my YouTube channel or you can watch it below:

I had to make two videos in order to fit it all in.

I need to take some pics of the other books but that will have to wait until I see my friends again.

Oh, I've been a stamping fool lately. I've finally stamped images in my little coloring book. I love it. I feel like I'm five again, hehe. Most of the images are from The Greeting Farm. I love their stamps! I'll share some pics later.

Here are the cards I made. I used My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose collections and MFT stamps and die-namics along with some Lawn Fawn stamps.

MFT Textile Rectangle die-namic & stamp in the center and Perfect Bracket Edge die-namic

MFT "Say What?" die-namic & stamp set

Lawn Fawn Just My Type & Just My Type Too stamps

MFT Framed Greetings die-namics and stamp set

MFT Textile Rectangle die-namic & stamp set

Lawn Fawn Just My Type stamp set & MFT Framed Greetings die-namic

Lawn Fawn Just My Type Too stamp set and Critters in the Forest
