Whew, all done!

Well, I definitely don't feel well. I was going to work today at the Habitat Store but once I was there I was feeling wiped out and couldn't breath (through my nose). We came home and I tried to take some photos and failed because the camera was dying. My husband convinced me to take a nap, not that it took a lot of convincing. I slept for 3 hours but I felt better when I woke up. My nose is still a little messed up though. I was finally able to finish taking photos and resize pictures so that I could submit them for the Graphic 45 Design Team call. I'm not holding my breath but it would be nice to be able to design for them. I know there are people out there that either have more experience or are more talented than me. It was fun trying though. I will post pictures of my projects below. I didn't really do a layout because I don't have a lot of pictures. They are all still at my mom's or on the computer but we don't have a digital printer or is it a laser printer?? I will probably try one now that I have everything submitted, haha. Anyway, now I just have to wait.

In the meantime, I need to get started on some sewing, making tags, making a mini for Tracy, and deciding if I want to join the ATC swap on The Beach. I can't decide if it will be too much or not. I'm also hesitant because I feel like I don't have the materials to go along with the theme for the month and I don't really want to have to go buy more. Trying to be good. Don't need to buy more things. This will probably last until tomorrow when I am suppose to go meet up with a new paper crafting group in the area. I have in my head that I will stop by Joann's and a LSS really quick and get a couple of things. You know how getting a couple of things goes though ;) Well, maybe while I am there I can get some things to do the ATC swap, haha.

I'm off to go play with either the markers or the glimmer mist.

Tag-on-a-Tag - there is a background stamp but it is hard to see sometimes. You can just make out it out on the right hand side of the tag.

This is a clipboard that I altered using mod podge to adhere the paper and then I used a rose ribbon adhered to chipboard to attach to the clip.

I altered a simple frame from creatology by adhering the frame to chipboard and then covering it with the paper frame. I inked the inside edges of the frame black and the pocket is adhered to the back side so that you can slip a picture in. If we go on a cruise, I think I'll put a picture of it in this frame.

I used distress ink to color the background and do the edges. Then I added the prima flower riboon.

This is the back of a simple tag I had made for another mini. The dots are stickers. I attached an embossed butterfly to a piece of die-cut card stock.

Awesome find!!

Hey all,

So I went to a class today at a local store, Scrapbooks & More. I had such a great time and all of the ladies were so nice. Thank you Amy and Melanie who were the instructors. I had such a great time in class and learned a lot. I got to try out the Copic markers and now I am hooked. I love them. They are markers that I wish I had known about a while ago. I will definitely be signing up for the next class. Anyway, while I was there I, of course, picked up a few things. I ended up with about 16 markers, a stamp pad, paper to use with the Copics, a super cute dress form stamp, the stamps that I colored and then my find!!! They just received the Martha Stewart scoring board. It comes with a scorer and as a bonus a template to make envelopes. The price put it over the top, it was way cheaper than either the Scor-it or Scor-pal. It has lines all the way to the end. I am super, super excited about it. I will post a video on it tomorrow. I found out Sat. that my camera was dead, when I tried to take it to the zoo with me. I also kept forgetting to bring it back into the house until today, haha. So no camera for me tonight. I also purchased a few other things which I will also video tomorrow. For now, I am super excited about the Copic markers and the scoring board. Woohooo!!!

Tripod help!

Hey all,

I want to start making some tutorials and videos of my stuff without having to hold the camera. That's why I haven't done more videos and put off making videos of some of my minis. I need a tripod thought. Does anyone have any suggestions about a good but decent priced tripod for a smaller camera? Also, I would like to get a small camcorder (are they still called that??). Any suggestions??? I know some people have a flip, are they good? I would like one that will last though.

Thanks for the help.

The past few days

Since we've been out for the past two days I have been trying to create new projects. It's going pretty well, so far. I've been happy with the results. I will post some pictures when I get finished. I still need to do a video on the minis that I have made. I also want to get started on a mini for a couple of friends, my mom, my grandmom, and my nieces. I guess they'll just have to go on the list of things to do. I am also trying to be good and stick to a budget in terms of spending but it's hard when Joann's and Michael's both have sales. I probably spent way too much at Joann's and didn't get enough stuff at Michael's but it's probably better for my wallet that way (not the Joann's part, haha). Oh and of course I've seen some other things to spend money on. Bluemoonscrapbooking has a bunch of new stuff from Maya Road that is adorable. Definitely going to have to get some of it. Plus, I want to get a Corner Chomper from Crop-a-Dile. Also, I am trying to hold out so that I can get some of the new Tim Holtz dies and other products when they come out. Does anyone know what the price range is for the new stuff?

Anyway, when I get finished with the projects I'll post them and my minis.

1st Card

The front of the birthday card for my Grandmom. I added some ribbon and glitter glue.
The inside of the card. I used the Cuttlebug Birthday Wishes card combo die and embossing folder, along with the two-step cake die.

How it all started...

Hey all,

I am starting up this blog to share my various creations. I got into scrapbooking in late December and love it. Around the same time I also learned to sew. After not really creating anything in a while, because I was in school, I was itching to create. I use to draw, paint, and do photography when I was in high school but once I entered college, I let it all go to the wayside. Now, I'm back and loving it. I have created 5 minis now, and made a few things with the sewing machine. I am hoping to get pictures up soon.

It all really started with me finding one of those discount books on making cards and scrapbook layouts around Christmas time. It seemed really interesting to make your own card and now it has developed into making minis. I love learning new techniques and seeing what various products are out there. I am looking forward to sharing ideas with other people and getting to know all the wonderful people out there that love the same things I do.
