Clean, clean, clean

I didn't really get to do anything creative today - in terms of paper crafting. I did get to make this:

Yummy cake with homemade chocolate icing.

Hubby and I spent most of the evening cleaning up the house. I spent the early part cleaning and he took over doing most of it during the later part, or is it latter part??? I finally had to straighten and de-clutter the main area I was using to do my crafting, which is the dining room table. I still have stuff there, I just moved the bulk of it to an extra desk in the office area. I can't decide which area I would prefer to work in. I'll just try them both out and then make up my mind. The benefit to the dining room is that I can watch tv at the same time if I want. The downside is that if hubby decides to watch something or play a game, I have to listen to it. I haven't really tried the office yet. It would allow me to leave stuff out more, since no one would see it as much.

Getting worried though because I washed the quilt for our bed and I don't think it's dry yet. It is 11:00 in the evening. We need to go to bed soon. Guess it'll be another late night, as usual. Haha! :)

Anyway, don't forget to sign up for my giveaway. Remember there are 3 things you need to do in order to be entered.

1st Giveaway

Hey all, I'm going to have my first blog candy giveaway. I meant to do this when I first picked up the products but better late than never, right? So I am sharing my wealth of ME chipboard products. There are two chipboard albums, if you would rather have the dog instead of the rounded star shape than I can switch them out. The more detailed ribbon is about a foot of each and the plain ribbon has about 3 feet. There are dimensional stickers and chipboard embellishments from the new ME line. I also threw in some cute pink clips in a swirl, heart, and butterfly shape.

To enter:

The giveaway will last until tax day, April 15th and then I will draw and post a winner on the 16th.
Good luck to everyone.

Spring Kit Blog Candy Giveaway!

Hey check out Kellie's blog for her awesome giveaway. She's celebrating 100,000 hits. What an awesome number and an awesome giveaway. Thanks Kellie for being generous and having the giveaway.

Here's a pic of the Spring Swiss Pixies Kit. Click either on her name or on the pic to be taken to the post.

Yummy, markers

I had such a great time yesterday at the class. I messed up though when I was picking markers with one of the instructors and got a duplicate. I really want to go back and exchange the marker. Maybe today, maybe later this week. I'll post what I created in a little bit.

We finished with our yard. We spread topsoil, mulch and I planted our flowers while my husband seeded and fertilized the yard. It looks awesome. It will also help my husband with mowing because we evened out most of the holes or places where there were roots. He says he shouldn't have to mow for a bout a month so that the grass has a chance to grow. It should look good later on this year.

Now, how to get back to the store.....hehe.

Craziness this week

Oh boy, thank goodness this week is over. It was not easy getting the kids back in the swing of being back in school. It has not been a good week for any of us. Someone also told me that we are going to have a full moon soon, so they'll be extra crazy. I really do think that there is something about a full moon. I've had to deal with kids being mad at me, parents upset about kids grades - not with me thank goodness. I need to remember to stay calm and not let them get to me.

I haven't been able to really do any creating lately though, and I think that has made me cranky because I haven't been able to relax. I'm going to a copic class tomorrow, so I should have my creative juices going tomorrow evening. I'm also planning on checking out some stores while I'm in town. :) I did get to finish the tags for my tag swap on the {Scrap}beach. Check out the video on my YouTube channel.

We're planning on working on the yard tomorrow. My husbands going to seed the yard, I'm going to plant some flowers and we'll both work on spreading topsoil and fertilizer around. Then I can go play. Sunday, I'll need to grade quizzes and start working on the different swaps that I signed up for. If you haven't already you all should stop by "Your Paper Pantry" and join my tag swap.

Finished with first mini swap!

Woohoo! I finished my first mini swap. I really hope that Tracy likes the mini. It was a ton of fun of to make. I will post a video once she receives it. I hope I did everything right in mailing it to her. Hopefully it won't get stuck in customs or somewhere crazy. Now I need to get my tags finished!

We went back to school today so I don't know how much time I will have. Although you would think being on Spring Break I would have been able to play more but my husband and I decided to do some spring cleaning and trying to fix things in the house. I need another week off so that I can do what I was planning on doing ;)

I have been looking for a dress form to use to either hold ribbon or to use as decoration. I have a lead on where to get one so I really want to go look for one but I'm trying to get good. Maybe I'll go around the middle of the week. If I had thought about it I could have gone yesterday when I went to check out the stamps at Big Lots. We'll see how long I hold out, haha.

Some of my recent small creations

Hey all,

Here's some of the smaller things that I have been working on. This is the ATC that I created for the March ATC Swap at the Beach. Here are the lollipop flowers that I made tonight. I used the big one in the mini for Tracy and may use the smaller ones also. We'll just have to wait and see ;)

My mom was sick again today. It wasn't as bad as last time, thank goodness. I ran some of her minor errands and got her prescription at the pharmacy. When I finally left she was feeling better but I'm still worried about her. I was planning on working on the mini for Tracy but it looks like I will have to do that tomorrow. I'm really hoping to get the chance tomorrow to work on it. Anyway, I picked up some things at the store today to help in finishing the mini. I picked up the fabric so that I could make some flowers that would go better with the album than the brighter ones that I already had. It's okay though because I wanted the flowers anyway, so this was just a good excuse to go and get them. I do need to start being good about getting stuff now though. It's just so hard because there's all this neat stuff out there. I feel like I'm behind. I've had my eye on the mini attacher - I may have to pick that up later this week. Anyway, my plan is to check out Micheal's again and some other stores Saturday when I go for the crop and the class. I'm super excited about Sat.

I'm off to go work on the mini.

Goodies from Michael's

So I went to Michael's today and found the new set of Mary Engelbreit chipboard albums. I love them. They are super cute. I just may have to go back and get some more. I am going to do a giveaway with some of the stuff I got today since I was able to snag a bunch. I will put details up later when I get everything together. You can watch the video on my YouTube channel, krussellstudio to check out what I got.

What a crazy few days!

Well the past few days have been full of excitement. My mom had been playing off how sick she was until yesterday. She went to the doctor and was apparently okay until you drank some water and then a few hours later she was in such horrific pain that I had to take her to the emergency room. She should only be about 20 - 30 min. away from the ER but because they closed the bridge down that connects her to the main part of town it took an extra 30 min. to get there. I felt so bad for her but there was no way I was turning around. She was in so much pain that it was making her sick...so once they were able to give her enough pain meds and nausea medicine, she was better and able to eat some ice chips. My grandmom was a trooper yesterday. She had spent most of the day with my mom and was worn out by the time they decided to call me to come take her. She was full of so much nervous energy that she was talking non-stop. Thankfully my husband went with me and was able to distract her some so I could take care of my mom. We spend about 6 or 7 hours at the ER waiting to hear what they were going to do. They finally admitted her, which was for the best because she had a test scheduled anyway in the morning. We went home about 1:30 since we had been waiting an hour or more for them to actually admit her and get her in a room. My husband had taken my grandmom home much earlier. She was worn out.

Well, today my husband and I had to administer the ACT to the juniors at our high school. I was so worn out and tired I thought I was going to fall over at one point during testing. We made it though with no major incidences. Checked in with my mom and they didn't find anything major during her test but they still aren't sure what is causing the pain. She has another test tomorrow, so they kept her again. Which is good because today she was allowed to have a liquid diet. I think she had two milkshakes, some coke, and a lot of water. She said she is dreaming of all the things she wants to eat when she gets out of the hospital. She hasn't been able to really eat anything for the past 5 days. Poor husband is sick to top everything off. I also had to check on the cat today but that takes an extra 20 min. than it should one way to get to the cat. Poor thing is lonely but she is okay.

Needless to say, no extra work was being done by me. My husband was able to contact the people for the play and they said not to worry about the jumper, someone else is going to sew it. I also haven't been able to work on the mini, tags, or atc cards. Oh well, maybe later this week or next week when we are off for spring break. Hopefully things will settle down now.

No workie on mini = sad

So I didn't get a chance to work on the mini today like I wanted to. My mom has been sick for the past few days so I went to check on her and spend some time with her. She has issues sometimes with her stomach, and it's acting up again. I also have to sew a jumper for the Senior Play before Wednesday, maybe they need it sooner? I went to find the few things that I need that they did not give me but I didn't have any success. I will have to check Hobby Lobby tomorrow - if they don't have it I'm not sure what I'll do. I am off to go sew. I had to spend about an hour transferring the marks and cutting some of the pieces that weren't done before. Now I seem to be having issues with the lining matching the actual piece. I think I have something worked out though. Will just have to see how it turns out. Wish me luck.

Coloring flowers with Copic and huge deal!!!

Check out my video on YouTube of the flowers I colored for the tag swap this month.

Wal-mart has the Crop-A-Dile and Big Bite on clearance for $10. I have been eyeing the Big Bite for a while. So I got it today in orange to match my Crop-A-Dile. I was tempted by the pink but decided that I would like for the two to match. I would like to get the corner chomper that cuts the scallop and cloud shape corners one day and I think that is pink - probably different shade though. Anyway, go check it out!

BLEH!

I have had a head cold for the past couple of days. It has really wiped me out a few times. Today we got out early, for rain (I mean snow...it had stopped doing this by the time we got to leave), and I promptly went to sleep. It was good we got out early because I felt bad about the last hour of school. I did finally get a tripod. I found a Gorillapod at Walmart - very exciting. I have been wanting to do a tutorial on using the Martha Stewart scoring board but I sound funny because of the cold. I will do one when I am better. Meanwhile, I've been playing with Copics - very fun. I also need to play with the GM more. I did learn that you probably shouldn't spray something that you plan on touching a lot afterwards. Is there some way to set it or seal it? I keep getting glimmer on myself whenever I touch the cover of the mini I'm working on.
